"What kind of assessments do you offer?"

Our comprehensive assessments are tailored to the referral concerns of each individual- therefore they’re not all the same! Within these assessment however, we can cover the domains of cognitive functioning, academic learning and behaviour. We use evidence-based assessment tools and screeners to help determine how a person learns, what tools and strategies support their learning styles, and to help make sense of certain behaviours that are present. Our additional assessment tools can also help explore daily living skills and executive functions.

"Where and when do the assessments take place?"

Our assessment take place across the week, and in some instances, can be scheduled on a weekend. We do our best to offer different options to better suit the needs of our families we work with! Our assessments take place in our office on Thorndon Quay in Wellington City.

"How much will an assessment cost?"

You may already be aware that these types of assessments usually come with a significant cost. We want to explain a bit as to why that is, to get an understanding of how much work goes into one of our assessments.

The assessment process includes:

• Initial phone interview + follow up interview to gain relevant background information;

• In person assessment time: varies between 3-5 hours, which can be split over two days so as to not exhaust our clients

• Further assessment gathering, formulation, report writing and supervision: anywhere between 10-15 hours usually

• Parent feedback session: 1 hour

We of course also have assessment material costs to factor in also.
